We are proud of you, T!

T has worked hard, pushed herself way beyond her comfort zone and has allowed herself to be loved and supported by her carers; something that will have been hugely difficult for her. Those that know T are immensely proud of her achievements and her determination to succeed. Read a letter from T here.

T arrived in foster care with her sister in 2014 at aged 11. She has faced huge difficulties with school anxiety and undiagnosed autism. It would have been very hard to imagine the T that we met on arrival, who had very much struggled to get into school some days, would be taking a university place this year. She achieved success in her GCSE’s and A Levels, far exceeding expectations. T has worked hard, pushed herself way beyond her comfort zone and has allowed herself to be loved and supported by her carers; something that will have been hugely difficult for her. Those that know T are immensely proud of her achievements and her determination to succeed.

A letter from T:

First of all, I must say I have so far avoided COVID, as some may know I have a serious illness which makes me more susceptible and hooray I am now double jabbed!
Being in lockdown for me has had some positives. I have been able to concentrate on my A level work and do LOTS more art.

Always being one for my own company, my past experiences with socialising left people scratching their heads. Not being in school made me realise that I need to start seeing and speaking to more people face to face and WHOOP, WHOOP  - I am! (That’s really my foster carers cheering.)
On that wave of confidence, I have managed to secure a bursary from a local art club after a gruelling 3 panel interview... this will help towards university in September to study more ART for the next 4 years!

I am currently buying new things for my room at university which is exciting and now the scary part… next week I am starting a part time job at a local supermarket.
I guess that will tell its own story.

So positive, scary and exciting things coming up which I never thought would happen for me.

Love T
