Capstone Foster Care have been building brighter futures for children by supporting foster carers for over 10 years.
We have over 120 foster carers in London and the South East and together with our expert team of staff, we have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. This is a great achievement by our staff and carers and a testament to the amazing work they do to help the lives of children and young people.
With over 10,000 children in care across London and the South East, we work with local authorities, spanning from Buckinghamshire County Council and Essex County Council to Haringey Council and Barnet Council, to place children with our foster carers and their families to provide a secure and stable home.
As a member of the Capstone Foster Care family, our foster carers are provided with expert advice and guidance as well as training and support, 24/7 365 days. We have training venues in Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent and many more locations across the South East.
Being part of the family means you automatically become part of our support groups because we know how important it is for our foster carers to get together and for our children and young people to feel part of the Capstone family. As one big happy family, we even have time to visit the local park, go to community fetes and sometimes just sit and eat cake.
“The agency places the diverse needs and well-being of the children at the heart of its practice. Foster carers and staff have positive views about the agency.”
“As foster carers with Capstone Foster Care we really feel part of the team. Our experience has been amazing, and we have always been supported. The social workers are always there when you need them and never let us down.”
“The most rewarding part of the journey has been watching young people build positive experiences, memories and gain personal successes while having fun in a safe environment. To date, we have experienced great help and support from the Capstone team.”
“We are excited to see how much more we can do, with the continued support of the Capstone staff and the amazing community we have been part of the Capstone Family.”
I have worked within the fostering sector for over 31 years in the UK as well as internationally in America and Canada since qualifying as a social worker in 1994. I’m passionate about fostering and building brighter futures for vulnerable children.
As the Area Director I am extremely proud to have a fantastic group of foster carers and staff that work tirelessly to ensure that the children and young people placed with us have a positive experience and are able to live fulfilling lives, while ensuring we have fun along the way.
Our aim is to provide a high level, quality service and our teams work in partnership with all those involved in the lives of the children to enable the best possible outcome for them.
Outside of work, I enjoy leisure activities, travelling and spending time with my family.
I started working with Capstone Foster Care in 2009, before joining the team in Dartford as a Supervising Social Worker in 2011. Have spent years working in the region I am now the Registered Manager.
Prior to working for Capstone Foster Care, I have had experience of working in local authorities in a variety of sectors. I am very passionate about working with children and young people, ensuring that they are supported to achieve positive outcomes. I really enjoy working with the staff at Capstone, who are just as passionate as I am about our children and young people, and our amazing foster carers.
After you have spoken with one of our Fostering Advisors on the phone, my role is to visit you in your home to discuss fostering with you in more detail and to help you decide if fostering is right for you. I joined Capstone Foster Care in February 2015 and since then I have seen lots of new families get approved as foster carers. I’m here to support potential foster carers right through the application and assessment process. I love my role in Capstone because I get to meet lots of amazing people who want to make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
I joined Capstone in November 2020 to support the Placement Teams across the South Hub. I have worked within fostering since 2004 and have helped to match and place many children into safe and loving foster placements during this time. I enjoy working with foster carers to help promote their many skills and experiences to different local authorities and ultimately match a young person with them to care for. I thoroughly enjoy my role as it helps to make a difference to both the lives of our foster carers and the young people coming into their care. Learning about young people’s progress in placement and celebrating their achievements is wonderful and knowing that you’ve played a small part in their progress is a fantastic feeling.
I have worked with Capstone since 2021 as a Placements Officer. I have previously worked for a Local Authority Early Intervention Team, Homeless and Complex Needs Supported Housing, Residential Care Homes and a Primary School. As the Placements Officer, I will be matching foster carers and children, carefully considering the matching potential. I will have conversations with foster carers and local authorities to ensure good a strong placement stability!
I joined Capstone in June 2021 as a Placement Officer for the South East. I have worked as a Placement Officer within fostering since 2016 and also have a degree in Childhood and Youth Studies. I find the role of Placement Officer very rewarding knowing that you can make a positive impact to children and young peoples lives. I have built good relationships with local authorities across the country over the years and I like to work closely with foster carers. I believe it is important to work together so we can ensure a good match with a child or young person to enable positive outcomes.
