Capstone Foster Care have been building brighter futures for children by supporting foster carers for over 10 years.
We have over 120 foster carers in London and the South East and together with our expert team of staff, we have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. This is a great achievement by our staff and carers and a testament to the amazing work they do to help the lives of children and young people.
With over 10,000 children in care across London and the South East, we work with local authorities, spanning from Buckinghamshire County Council and Essex County Council to Haringey Council and Barnet Council, to place children with our foster carers and their families to provide a secure and stable home.
As a member of the Capstone Foster Care family, our foster carers are provided with expert advice and guidance as well as training and support, 24/7 365 days.
Being part of the family means you automatically become part of our support groups because we know how important it is for our foster carers to get together and for our children and young people to feel part of the Capstone family. As one big happy family, we even have time to visit the local park, go to community fetes and sometimes just sit and eat cake.
“The agency places the diverse needs and well-being of the children at the heart of its practice. Foster carers and staff have positive views about the agency.”
“As foster carers with Capstone Foster Care we really feel part of the team. Our experience has been amazing, and we have always been supported. The social workers are always there when you need them and never let us down.”
“The most rewarding part of the journey has been watching young people build positive experiences, memories and gain personal successes while having fun in a safe environment. To date, we have experienced great help and support from the Capstone team.”
“We are excited to see how much more we can do, with the continued support of the Capstone staff and the amazing community we have been part of the Capstone Family.”
I have worked within the fostering sector for over 31 years in the UK as well as internationally in America and Canada since qualifying as a social worker in 1994. I’m passionate about fostering and building brighter futures for vulnerable children.
As the Area Director I am extremely proud to have a fantastic group of foster carers and staff that work tirelessly to ensure that the children and young people placed with us have a positive experience and are able to live fulfilling lives, while ensuring we have fun along the way.
Our aim is to provide a high level, quality service and our teams work in partnership with all those involved in the lives of the children to enable the best possible outcome for them.
Outside of work, I enjoy leisure activities, travelling and spending time with my family.
I started working with Capstone Foster Care in 2009, before joining the team in Dartford as a Supervising Social Worker in 2011. Have spent years working in the region I am now the Registered Manager.
Prior to working for Capstone Foster Care, I have had experience of working in local authorities in a variety of sectors. I am very passionate about working with children and young people, ensuring that they are supported to achieve positive outcomes. I really enjoy working with the staff at Capstone, who are just as passionate as I am about our children and young people, and our amazing foster carers.
After you have spoken with one of our Fostering Advisors on the phone, my role is to visit you in your home to discuss fostering with you in more detail and to help you decide if fostering is right for you. I joined Capstone Foster Care in February 2015 and since then I have seen lots of new families get approved as foster carers. I’m here to support potential foster carers right through the application and assessment process. I love my role in Capstone because I get to meet lots of amazing people who want to make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
I joined Capstone Foster Care as a Duty and Placements Officer in 2016. I’m now the Senior Placements Officer, so it’s my job to manage the young people’s referrals that we receive, myself and the Placements Team then match them to available foster carers. I enjoy interacting with the staff team and the foster carers that we have. Every person is different and that makes my job more enjoyable, being able to converse with a diverse group of people. The best part of my job however is knowing that I’m helping provide a safe and secure home for young people at need. Job satisfaction doesn’t get much better than that.
I joined Capstone Foster Care in 2018. My role as the Placement Coordinator is to manage the referrals that we receive alongside my colleague Kieron and make well matched placements for children, who come into care, with our foster carers. I thoroughly enjoy my job and working with the team as it gives me great satisfaction to know we are helping children in need to have better and brighter futures. Before joining Capstone, I gained previous placement coordinator experience working in another agency and this is where I discovered my passion for working in this role! In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading, cooking, going for long walks and socialising.
I joined Capstone Foster Care in April 2019. My role as Placement Administrator is to help keep our compliance to a high standard by communicating effectively with colleagues and local authorities. To support the placement team by assisting with referrals that we receive allowing us to make well-matched placements for young people in care. Before joining Capstone, I worked as a placement advisor where I provided support to 220 students per year who were undertaking social care and psychology placements. I was required to carry out risk assessments for every student to ensure their safety. I feel great satisfaction in knowing that we are helping young people in their life journey while keeping them safe.
