Helping Others Aspire to Succeed

20th April, 2023

We were delighted recently when we were able to support an aspirational organisation based in Derby, Aspire2Succeed, by donating two refurbished laptops.

Helping Young People

The charity, which was founded in 2015, aims to develop young people aged 11 – 18 years, empowering and inspiring them in order to succeed in every aspect of their lives.

Children not only from disadvantaged backgrounds, but all walks of life can be matched to mentors by the organisation, all passionate about seeing young people succeed. Mentorship comes in a variety of forms, whether that be support with their educational needs, to helping with confidence and social skills, to promoting sporting activities. The organisation adapts its approach to suit the young person in anything that will help set them up for adult life.

Many of the children supported go on to achieve in university and be offered places on apprenticeships.

Capstone Foster Care in the Community

Capstone has ties to Aspire2Succeed through Area Director, Steve Blackwood who acts as a Volunteer Board Treasurer to the charity in his free time. He commented,

“Children are at the heart of everything we do here at Capstone. It’s so important that we, as an independent agency, do everything we can in our local communities to invest in the future of young people whether they are a Capstone child or not.”

With the charity relying on grants in order to continue supplying its vital services to young people, donations such as the laptops are always welcome and they will find a worthy home with a child much needing its use.

Board Chair and IT expert to Aspire2Succeed said of the laptops, “The quality of the laptops is very impressive, as was the care in packaging and getting them too us. They will be well loved and well used.”

In 2022 Capstone also donated a mobile phone to the organisation which has proved invaluable, used for emergency situations and as a point of contact for parents and guardians when the children are out on field trips. The charity often takes its young people on trips such as Kayaking, giving children one-of-a-kind experiences.

We are proud to be able to support this wonderful organisation at a local level and hope to continue to do so.
