Could You Foster?
You don’t need to be an expert on children and young people or have a fancy qualification to become a foster parent. A loving heart, a desire to help and a drive to make a difference are far more important. There are many different types of foster care out there and so, no matter your circumstances, there is a type of fostering service you can provide.
The only things we do ask for is that you’re over the age of 21, are in good health and have a spare room in your home.
Training and Support
As a foster parent with Capstone, you’ll receive all the training you need to provide the best possible care for your first foster placement as part of our “Skills to Foster” training programme.
You will also have access to 24/7 support from our fostering team and regular support from your supervising social worker. To learn more about our training and support provision, click here.
Foster Care Allowance
Foster care is a full-time job and, ideally, you should be able to support yourself and the child or young person in your care without needing to take on additional work. That is why we provide a competitive weekly fostering allowance. This money is there to help cover the costs of your new family member, as well as act as a reward for the time, love and care that you have dedicated to your new role.
The value of this allowance will vary depending on the type of foster care placement you take on but can range up to £650 per week for parent and child foster placements.
How Do I Start?
The first thing you need to do is contact us using the form below or by calling us on 0800 012 4004. From there we can talk about your circumstances and arrange an in-person meeting where we can learn more about you and start the assessment process. If you’re interested in fostering in the South East, then we urge you to get in touch today.
