Building Brighter Futures
Local Authority Commissioner feedback about Capstone:
“Capstone are extremely helpful, responsive and very child focused. We find them to be very creative and willing to think outside the box to find the best solution for the child and carers’’.
This gives us a preferred provider status with Local Authorities across Somerset and Wiltshire. We work in partnership with Somerset, North Somerset, BATHNES, Wiltshire and Bristol Local Authorities and have an excellent reputation for holding the child central to our thinking and working closely with Local Authorities to create stability for children and young people.
Capstone have a ‘Good’ Ofsted report with ‘Outstanding Features’; that include ‘Outcomes for Children’, and ‘Quality of Service’. Children at Capstone achieve well at school, for example: from September 2014 – October 2015 of the children taking exams at 16yrs:
38.4% attained 5 A* – C grades (inc English and Maths) – compared to the National Average of 14% of children in care.
We offer stable, safe and loving placements for the children and young people.
Some very positive feedback from some of our children and Young People includes:
“Julie (foster carer) is a loving, caring, trustworthy person who I have formed a very close personal relationship with. She is easy to talk to and advocates my wishes outstandingly. I feel privileged to live with such a legend.”
“Carol and Steve (foster carers) are fun, they know all my problems, they do a good job looking after me, they understand me and support me. I love living in my placement.”
“Mike (foster carer) is a strong, loving, caring person. I really enjoy living with Mike because I can have a laugh and go on enjoyable holidays.”
Children are given the opportunity to participate in making decisions about what they do. They are involved in organising activities throughout the year. Going to places like Brean Leisure Park, beach fun, horse riding and activity centres like Brokerswood over the summer holidays and smaller activity ‘get togethers’ over the half terms. They also advise us on what we can do better!
