Fostering Children with Complex Needs or Disabilities
Complex Needs Foster Carers are expected to care for children and young people with a wide range of disabilities or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Do you have personal or professional experience of caring or working with children with at least ONE of the following:
- Autism
- ADHD
- Epilepsy
- Cerebral Palsy
- Learning Difficulties
- Gastrostomy
- Visual Impairment
- Hearing Impairment
- Global Developmental Delay
- Statement of Special Educational Needs
- Other disabilities
Can you:
- Provide intensive, dedicated, all-round care
- Be firm but gentle and calm
- Support children to manage negative emotions in a safe way
- Develop self-esteem and confidence
- Offer a great deal of patience, flexibility, empathy and stamina
- Provide at least one spare bedroom
