Meet Karen A
Hi my name is Karen. I am from Kent and have worked in Kent and London for the past 12 years in fostering. I manage the social work team who are incredibly committed to our foster carers and children & young people and always go the “extra mile” to support them very closely. I am passionate about fostering and delivering high quality support to carers and children. I am very much looking forward to contributing to the ongoing development of Capstone Foster Care. Working with foster carers and witnessing the amazing difference made to children and young people’s lives has been an absolute privilege throughout my career.
Greetings to all. I am Rebecca and I have recently joined the Capstone Foster Care team in March 2016 as a Supervising Social Worker. In 2007 I qualified as a Social Worker, completing my BA (Hons) Degree from Kingston University. Following my degree, I was employed by a London based Local Authority as a Social Worker in a fast-paced Referral and Assessment team. This was valuable experience as I gained an in-depth understanding of Child Protection. In addition, I gained experience in Safeguarding procedures and acquired good analytical, recording and assessment skills. My employment in the London based Local Authority has given me a good insight in to statutory Social Work and working with vulnerable populations. It also added to my experience by helping me understand and abide by the code of ethics, values and principles of Social Work. My longest period of employment has been in the area of Fostering. I gained a broad set of skills and experiences in fostering in the recruitment and assessment of prospective foster carers, as a member of the fostering panel and as a Supervising Social Worker. I enjoy working with children and young people and know what a positive difference a good professional can make in their lives. I value their futures and I bring my positive attitude and my Social Work skills and experience to make that difference. I am hard-working, well organised and committed to bringing change and positive outcomes for the children we serve. On a personal level, I am an avid musician and enjoy playing and listening to an eclectic range of music. I have been a student of the Royal Schools of Music and play the piano, recorders and clarinet with some proficiency. Other interests include world -travel, reading, theatre and socialising with family and friends. I look forward to the challenges that Capstone Foster Care will offer me in my professional development. I also look forward to making a change in the lives of vulnerable children we serve and in making a contribution to this agency.
My name is Kandice and I am thrilled to be a part of the Capstone Foster Care Team.
