Fostering Plymouth

About Capstone Foster Care

Each of our local offices has a friendly, caring and highly professional team, all linked by our shared passion to achieve good futures for children and first-class support for our foster carers.

We are currently recruiting foster carers in the Plymouth area

We are always looking for new foster carers in the Plymouth area. If you are looking to make a huge difference to a child’s life, then we’d like to hear from you.

What we look for in foster carers

  • You’ll need energy, patience, commitment and understanding
  • You have at least one spare bedroom
  • We are also keen to talk to people interested in becoming Parent & Child foster carers (subject to suitability)

Why choose Capstone Foster Care?

You will be given extensive ‘Skills to Foster’ training as well as an ‘Introduction to Therapeutic Foster Care’ in preparation for your fostering career. Supervising social workers give structured and safe support to carers, and ongoing training is provided to equip you and give you confidence in your role.

We have activity days and participation groups for children (both fostered and birth children are invited) and have access to therapists, an education coordinator and support workers, with the aim of helping children to rebuild their lives and prepare them for a positive future.

About Capstone Foster Care

We have approximately 100 committed staff members supporting our 500 foster carers. We have offices situated all over England, with our local staff members working hard to ensure that they know all of our foster carers personally.  We work hard to ensure the family feel of our local fostering offices. We are able to offer new foster carers  the resource and stability of a larger agency, and the local person-centred attention from a small agency too.

Make a difference – Fostering in Plymouth

So much to explore in Plymouth for Foster Carers and the children placed with them.  Plymouth Hoe is the natural heart of Plymouth with views of one of the most perfect, natural harbours in the world.  Some may enjoy the challenge of climbing Smeatons Tower lighthouse.  Learn about Sir Francis Drake, intrepid explorer and local hero, who is immortalised in a statue on the Hoe, situated just a few metres from the green where he finished his game before heading out to defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588
