Fostering in Grays
Grays is the largest town in the Thurrock region of Essex. It is also one of the areas where Capstone Foster Care is looking for new foster parents. If you are interested in becoming a foster carer and fostering in Grays, then we’d love to hear from you.
Capstone Foster Care is an independent fostering agency. This means that we work closely with local authorities across England, including Thurrock Council local authority, to provide high-quality foster care services and help change the lives of children and young people in need of loving homes. To do this, we need to be sure that we have a skilled and compassionate fostering team which is why we’re always looking for dedicated and loving individuals who want to make a difference in their local community.
As a foster carer with us you’ll be providing one of many different fostering services. Capstone provides many different types of foster care, including more basic placements such as long and short-term placements as well as more specialist placements, including parent and child and sibling group placements. We are especially interested in hearing from those interested in providing these more specialist placement types.
As a carer with Capstone, you’ll be eligible for a competitive weekly fostering allowance with associated tax break benefits. Since fostering is a full-time job and career, we understand that it’s important to know that your work is financially viable. This allowance not only helps cover the costs of caring for looked after children, but also as a reward for the dedication and love our carers invest in their roles.
Before you can register to become a foster carer, there are a couple of requirements you need to meet. First, you need to be over the age of 21 and be in good health. More importantly, however, you need to have a spare room in your home to act as a bedroom for your foster placement. It doesn’t matter whether this spare room is in a home you own or an apartment you rent, as long as it is there for a child or young person to call their own. Aside from this, your age, gender, race, religion or whether you identify as LGBTQ has no impact on your ability to become a foster carer with Capstone. We work hard to properly match looked after children with carers that best meet their social and cultural needs and so we are actively looking to build an increasingly diverse roster of foster families.
