Fostering in Calderdale
Have you ever thought about fostering in Calderdale? If so then Capstone Foster Care wants to recruit you to our team of caring and passionate foster carers. As an independent foster care agency we work closely with local authorities across England, such as the Calderdale Council local authority, to help re-home children and young people when, for whatever reason, they are no longer able to live with their birth families. We are always looking for new carers across the Yorkshire area as demand for quality foster parents is always far higher than the availability. By applying to become a foster parent with Capstone today, you could help meet that demand and change the life of a child or young person in your local area.
All children and young people deserve safe and friendly homes to live in, and you can help provide that. All you need is to be over the age of 25, be in good health and have at least one spare room in your home. Nothing else is important, not your race, gender or preferences – though a caring and loving personality and a good sense of humour are always bonuses! You don’t even need extensive childcare experience, as we provide training to all new applicants as standard.
As well as a competitive payment allowance and tax benefits to help cover costs for all foster carers, our carers all report that the biggest reward is the feeling of satisfaction and purpose that they gain from knowing they are helping those in need.

At Capstone Foster Care, we work to offer a wide range of different types of fostering placements. These range from emergency placements that may only last a few days and come with little notice, to long-term placements that can last several years. We are also looking for foster parents for specialist fostering placements, including sibling group placements and parent and child fostering. Sibling group placements aim to keep family groups of looked after children, something Capstone aims to do whenever possible, as, according to studies, it often results in a better outcome for the children in care. Parent and child fostering placements involve – not only making sure children’s needs are met – but that their parents are able to care for them themselves. In this specialist placement type, you will act as tutor and mentor to a young family to help them grow.
If you make the decision to become a carer and provide a vitally important fostering service to your local area then we’ll provide you with all the training and support you might need. And, assuming you meet all the required prerequisites and pass the fostering panel, you will be making a real change in your local community. The Capstone team and your assigned social worker will also be on hand 24/7, 365 days a year (yes, even at Christmas) to help support you care for your foster child and be the best carer you can be.
