Are you ready to start your fostering journey? If you live in the Doncaster area and have a spare bedroom then you have two of the primary requirements to join the Capstone team! We are actively recruiting people who are able to become involved in fostering in Doncaster. In particular, we need carers who can offer homes to sibling group or parent and child placements.
It is a fact that looking after a young person in care can be a challenge. However, the rewards far outweigh any challenge. Our foster carers can attest to this. When you have the opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s life, you are changing the world.
As an example, consider the results of a parent and child placement. A young father or mother and his or her (more likely her) infant or toddler will become part of your household. During their placement with you, the parent is given the guidance and support to learn how to care for her child in the most positive manner. You are there to calm the parent’s fears as well as provide advice and training on the elemental concepts of caring for an infant or toddler. You are also there to ensure that the baby’s basic needs are met.
What you are doing is providing the potential for a lifelong bond between the parent and child. This is one way to staunch the so-called cycle of neglect and abuse that can affect an entire family dynamic. Many times, the parents have had no positive role model for parenting so they were at a loss as to what to do.

Capstone Foster Care has experienced social workers that are always on hand to provide support and guidance. We also have a 24-hour Out of Hours Service. Tim Woodhouse, a registered play therapist, provides services to our carers. These one-on-one sessions are of great benefit to foster carers who sometimes might need additional support. These are some of the reasons our foster families enjoy being part of our team.
Although we are a well-established fostering agency operating across most parts of England, each office still maintains the family-friendly feel. Our carers experience the best of both worlds – the resources and expertise of a large agency, and also, the personal feel and local support which they really value and appreciate.
We look forward to discussing your future as part of our team. It takes a few months to assess your application and carry out home visits. If you are interested in starting the process (and have a spare bedroom or two), contact our foster carer recruitment team and they’ll be happy to take your call and answer any questions about fostering you may have.
You can call us on 0800 012 4004. You may also enquire by completing our online form. Within 24 hours, someone will contact you to answer any questions you may have. We have offices in Barnsley, Greater Manchester (Heywood) and Bradford.
