Fostering Agencies in West Midlands
Capstone Foster Care is eagerly looking for carers in the West Midlands. We are one of the independent fostering agencies that work with the local authorities in finding homes for young people in care.
The Capstone team has more than 100 carers across the West Midlands, where we have been operating for several years. We have a staff of more than twenty professionals with offices in Birmingham, Leicester and Stoke.
We are a friendly and involved fostering agency and among our networking teamwork are the regular events we host across West Midlands for fostering families. There are also catch-ups throughout the year where foster families can relax and enjoy the Capstone team camaraderie.
Capstone excels in providing top-notch foster parents. We pride ourselves in the quality of our team, from our experienced and responsive staff to our network of vibrant carers. Our families have a positive attitude that reflects the Capstone culture of being caring and working out any issues in the most efficient and effective manner possible. We think in terms of being a team and as a carer you are an important part of that team. Each of us brings different skills to the network.
One of our carers, Lesley, explains why she fosters, “…when people ask why I do it, maybe instead of trying to answer, I should simply ask them to observe, to see the transformation of a broken, scared child grow into a happy, healthy, confident child, because that is what truly makes everything worthwhile.”

The wider the geographical range of our foster homes, the better we are able to serve looked after children. Being removed from their family home is a traumatic event for children. If they have to be placed out of their local area, they also lose the security of attending the same school and seeing their usual friends. Having more carers in the Midlands means that looked after Midland children are able to be transitioned as smoothly as possible within or near a community with which they are familiar.
If you live in any of the following areas – Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leicester, Leicestershire, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Northamptonshire, Nottingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Sutton, Coldfield, Telford, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton, Worcester, and Worcestershire – and have questions about fostering or becoming a carer, contact Capstone.
The application process begins with the necessity to have a spare bedroom. Because we need placements for sibling groups, if you have more than one spare bedroom, we would really like to talk to you. We offer generous allowances, excellent training and support, and a friendly network.
Foster carer Arlene was glad she made the decision to join Capstone after retirement, “I felt like my purpose was to foster I had always wanted to make a difference to children’s lives to ensure that every child that crosses my path has support, love and warmth.”
