On Friday 19th June, our Devon team organised and hosted a Pet Show on Zoom for the children and their pets to take part in.
A fantastic way to encourage our children to interact with each other after being apart for such a long period of time and talking about their family pets with pride. We had dogs a plenty and a very cute tortoise attending called Hermione. Our well-loved respite carer Jules’s pup Henry, stole the show by losing a tooth whilst he goofed around with his companion, the much calmer Hector.
Hermione and her young person gave us a demonstration of how to bath your tortoise which was informative and fun.
Cutest pet at the show was young Huxley the chocolate lab, who seemed to enjoy the screen time with his best friend Ruby lab. Anna, our Children’s Champion’s dog Puddie, joined in too and was totally bemused!
It was a really fun event that was fun, informative and helped us all to stay connected for a couple of hours. We enjoyed it that much that we think we will do it every year now, lockdown or no lockdown!
