Fostering in Gloucestershire
Do you have a spare bedroom, a kind and loving heart, and the desire to help a young person achieve a bright future? Do you live in Gloucestershire? If you can answer yes to both questions, Capstone needs you. We are currently recruiting foster carers in the Gloucestershire area, especially in Gloucester itself, Berkeley, Dursley, Cheltenham and Stroud. If you have been thinking about fostering as a career, please contact us for more information.
A foster carer needs to have plenty of patience and empathy, as well as energy and a ‘can do’ attitude in order to provide a caring and nurturing home. We need homes with more than one bedroom for sibling groups. We also have a need for parent and child placements. Your marital status does not matter. You can be single or married, male or female, gay or straight. Ideally, you are over 21 years of age. There is no upper age limit but you must be in excellent health.
Who are we? Capstone is an agency that puts children and carers first, so that they are the centre of all we do. For carers, we provide you with thorough ‘Skills to Foster’ training and an introduction to therapeutic foster care, followed by ongoing training and 24/7 support of an experienced supervising social worker.
We were rated Good by Ofsted in our recent inspections. We have offices spread around the UK and our local staff teams make a point of knowing personally all the caring families on their team. We work hard to maintain the local, family feel of all our offices so that we can offer new fosterers the best of both worlds – the resources and expertise of a large agency as well as the personal family feel and local support that most carers really value.
Capstone has been successful in all the local authority tenders that place children in fostering homes in the Bristol and Gloucestershire areas and are preferred providers for the local authorities in these areas.
