Fostering Agencies North West – Capstone Foster Care
Capstone Foster Care is actively recruiting foster carers in North West England, across Lancashire, Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria and Yorkshire. If you are already registered as a foster carer with another fostering agency or a local authority, you can transfer to us.
If you have never fostered before, have you ever wanted to become a foster parent or do you have questions about fostering? The basics that you need to know are that local authorities and independent agencies need people or families who are able to offer support and time to children and young people in need of a safe family environment.
You will need to have space for the child as it is essential that each young person can have their own private bedroom. You can be single or married, gay or straight. Ideally you are at least 21 years old. It doesn’t matter if you have children of your own or if you have never had children. You must be in good health.

Being able to take time to go to meetings and attend training sessions is important. It is also helpful if you drive because there are occasions when you will have to take the foster child or young person to meetings and to make contact with birth families as necessary. There is an assessment process that can take up to six months but it is sometimes much shorter than that.
Capstone has a broad range of types of fostering placement needs, both short-term foster placements and long-term foster placements. We also have a need for parent and child placements. Capstone’s fostering allowances and payments are generous. Fees and allowances are paid weekly and based on the age and special needs of children and young people in your care. It is important that foster parents are not plagued with financial concerns so that they can focus on fostering.
You will be part of a team and we will work with you and provide assistance and local support. You will also have a dedicated support worker and there is always a senior supervising social worker available to help with any issues or questions you might have. The benefits for Capstone foster carers include 24-hour support from our team, training, events, support groups and family days out.
We also provide our foster carers with membership to FosterTalk, which provides a wide range of services, including expert advice about finance, education, and discounts on a wide range of goods and suppliers. We also have a committed and valued family of foster carers who enjoy planning fostering events together and support each other on their fostering journey. You will also be entitled to 14 days respite per year.
