Capstone Foster Care is an independent fostering agency, working collaboratively in close partnership with local authorities to identify and meet the needs of children needing to be fostered, providing safe and secure family matching.

As a Family Matching Coordinator, you are an integral part of the Family Matching Team and will work in partnership to provide a highly effective, efficient and responsive Family Matching Service across our fostering families and residential properties. Responsibilities of a Family Matching Coordinator:

The role will include undertaking a wide range of Family Matching tasks including:

  • Process, co-ordinate and analyse high levels of incoming referrals from local authorities of children and young people needing fostering arrangements
  • Working proactively and creatively with our social work and clinical teams and local authorities to match children and young people with Capstone, based on often complex and sensitive information
  • Identifying and coordinating short breaks for children and young people placed within our fostering service
  • Creation and maintenance of family matching records
  • Providing data and information to support with business reporting
  • Co-ordinating all open and ongoing referral activity as part of the Family Matching team by coordinating liaison with internal and external colleagues
  • Negotiating financial arrangements and support packages for children and young people  placed in our care
  • Being creative in promoting to local authorities our foster carer’s skills, experience and availability
  • To develop and exercise an understanding of the customs, traditions, culture and religions when dealing with children and foster families and matching fostering arrangements.

A Family Matching Coordinator needs to have:

  • Confident with proven strong negotiation skills
  • At least 6 months experience in a fast paced, similar role
  • An understanding of the independent fostering sector and fostering regulations
  • Resilient withproven experience of being an effective team player
  • Proactive relationship builder
  • Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
