Capstone Foster Care and FosterCare UK have developed a Multidisciplinary Assessment & Treatment Service (MATS) which provides assessment, consultation and treatment to children and young people looked after in their fostering services. MATS is an established service within the South East of England and is now being rolled out across the South West.

MATS is led by an employed Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist and the team will comprise Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Team members are self employed and are commissioned to undertake specific pieces of assessment and intervention. We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced clinicians to join the team. Work is likely to be infrequent initially until the service is developed in a new area but could include undertaking clinical support to the foster carers and to the professional network, as well as undertaking specialist assessment of the child or young person and offering direct intervention.

This is a unique, multidisciplinary service working in an adaptive and responsive way, to support children and young people within their foster family.
