Would you like to foster in Southampton?
Have you got a spare room and the energy, time and commitment to offer a child or young person a safe and nurturing home? We are currently recruiting foster carers in Southampton, especially those who can foster a sibling group or a parent and child placement. Some experience in child care is useful, but you don’t need a qualification, just the emotional and physical space for a child in your life.
Why choose Capstone Foster Care?
We give you thorough training before the start of your fostering career, so that you are well-prepared for the task ahead. Once approved as a foster carer, you will receive ongoing training and excellent all round support from your supervising social worker and the rest of the team.
The child or young person is at the centre of all we do, and therefore we have access to therapists, intervention workers, education support and you will have 24/7 access to a social worker and management backup for advice. We are also part of a small group of fostering services who are trialling the impact of social pedagogy in fostering; therefore we have an in-house social pedagogue available to us too.
We have a tight network of carers who are supportive of each other and get to meet each other at various carer support groups and activity days. For children (both fostered and birth children) there are participation groups and we also arrange training for birth children, as they are very much part of the fostering family.
