Fostering in Paignton

Fostering in Paignton with Capstone Foster CareAre you over the age of 21, in good health and interested in fostering in Paignton? If you answer yes, then Capstone Foster Care would love to hear from you.

We’re an independent fostering agency. That means we work with local and county councils across England – including in Devon and the South-West – and provide high-quality foster carers when the local authority’s supply of carers is unable to meet the ever-growing demand for foster parents across the country. This is why we need you to join our fostering team – there simply aren’t enough foster families to provide loving and safe homes for all the children and young people in need across the UK.

As well as the aforementioned age and health, one other thing you need before you can apply to become a foster carer is a spare room in your home. Without a spare room to act as a child or young person’s bedroom, they will not have access to that private and secure environment that is vital to the successful outcome of a foster placement. It’s so important, in fact, that you won’t be able to take on a placement without one.  Your age, gender, race, religion or whether you identify as LGBTQ have no impact on your ability to provide quality care to children and young people in your community and so none of these factors affects your ability to become a registered foster parent with Capstone.

Once you apply with us, you’ll be visited in your home by your assigned supervising social worker. They’ll sit with your for an informal chat so they can get to know more about you and your living situation. They’ll also start to complete your Form F Assessment, which marks the start of a four to six-month assessment process that will culminate with a meeting with an impartial fostering panel. This panel will make a recommendation as to your suitability to provide a fostering service, though the decision to approve you as a Capstone carer remains with us.

We offer all carers a range of support and benefits to ensure they are able to offer the most high-quality service possible. During your assessment process, you’ll be invited to attend a fostering skills training course as part of our education and development program for prospective carers. There is also scope for further training after your approval. All carers will also receive a competitive weekly allowance and tax break benefits alongside 24-hour support services provided by our dedicated team of in-house social and support workers. Our weekly allowance is there, not only to help cover the costs of caring for a foster placement, but also as a reward for our carers dedication to their work.

If you’re looking to start you foster care journey, or are an experienced carer looking for a new agency then contact us now, our friendly team would love to hear from you. They’ll be happy to offer any advice and provide any further information that you might need. Together we can help change the lives of children and young people across the South West of England. We look forward to hearing from you.
