Fostering in Frome

Fostering in Frome with Capstone Foster CareCapstone Foster Care is searching for caring and dedicated individuals to start fostering in Frome.

As an independent fostering agency, we work closely with local authorities around England to provide high-quality foster parents when the authorities supply of in-house carers are unable to meet the ever-growing need for caring services. One of the authorities we work with is Somerset County Council in the south-west – this is the council responsible for providing services, including childcare services, to the town of Frome. Even with two pools of foster parents to draw from, however, the number of children and young people in need of foster families is still far higher than the number of carers available.

This is why we want you to consider applying to Capstone Foster Care.

As a registered foster carer, you’ll be in the position to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in your community and help them grow and develop in a positive way. Our carers have always told us how rewarding this experience is. This isn’t the only reward you’ll receive as a foster parent, however. While many people don’t become a foster carer for the financial benefits, being a foster care is a full-time job and so it’s important to know that it’s a viable career path.  All carers receive a weekly allowance that varies depending on the type of placement in their care. This payment is provided, both to help cover the costs of caring for the young person in your care, and as a reward for your dedication, love and time that you’ve invested into your role.

So who can become a foster carer? There are not too many hoops to jump through when you first apply. All we ask is that you’re at least 21 years of age, are in good health and have a spare bedroom in your house. This last part is vital as, with a spare bedroom, your foster placement would have secure and private space where they can relax and feel safe – this is extremely important to a successful foster care experience.

Once you contact us and start the foster care application process, you’ll be visited by your assigned supervising social worker. They will visit you in your home for an informal chat and will explain the assessment process which will culminate in a meeting with the independent fostering panel meeting. Your social worker will be on hand to provide support and guidance throughout this process.

You will also be placed on foster parent skills training courses to help you provide top quality care over a variety of different types of fostering services, including parent and child care, sibling group placements, respite care and more.

If you’d like to join our professional fostering family, then we’d love to hear from you. Our friendly support team are on hand now to answer any questions you might have, provide guidance and help you start your first to change a life as a professional foster carer. Please get in touch with us today, by phone on 0800 012 4004, by using on our online enquiry form or by using or live chat. We hope to hear from you soon.
