Considering fostering in Basingstoke?

We are always on the lookout for suitable foster carers all over Hampshire, specifically in Basingstoke.  If you are thinking of fostering Basingstoke based children, we are particularly looking for people who can foster siblings, teenagers and who can support children who have been through trauma. Often these children will demonstrate challenging behaviours.

If you have a spare room available and have the energy, resilience and commitment to offer a safe and nurturing home to a child in need of someone to believe in them, then please contact us.

What our foster carers say

With the support of Capstone, we have been able to make a contribution to providing positive experiences in children’s lives. Despite having to deal with sometimes challenging situations and behavior, overall, we thoroughly enjoy fostering and have found it a very rewarding experience.

Meet our carers

Fostering with Capstone

It’s important to understand what fostering is, that’s why we put together this short video. We asked carers from across England to find out how they feel about fostering and the support that they have received from Capstone Foster Care.

Why choose Capstone Foster Care?

You will be given extensive ‘Skills to Foster’ training as well as an ‘Introduction to Therapeutic Foster Care’ in preparation for your fostering career. Supervising social workers give structured and safe support to carers, and ongoing training is provided to equip you and give you confidence in your role.

We have activity days and participation groups for children (both fostered and birth children are invited) and have access to therapists, an education coordinator and support workers, with the aim of helping children to rebuild their lives and prepare them for a positive future.

We have ‘preferred provider status’ therefore the local authority will refer children to us in the first instance.

About Capstone Foster Care South West

Capstone Foster Care was established in 2007 in the South West, our fostering agency has grown substantially with offices operating across most parts of England.   In the South West Region, we have around 40 staff supporting approximately 146 carers and we are rated ‘Good with outstanding features’ by Ofsted in our latest inspection.  We have 4 offices spread across the South West in Kingsteignton – Devon, Frome – Somerset, Thornbury – Bristol/Gloucestershire and Ringwood – Hampshire. Our local staff teams make a point of knowing personally all the carers in their areas.  We work hard to maintain the local, family feel in all our offices so that we can offer new carers the best of both worlds – the resources and expertise of a large agency as well as the personal family feel and local support that most carers really value.
