Do you live in the Bradford area, have a spare bedroom and want to foster? If so, Capstone Foster Care are looking to recruit carers in this area. You could make a huge difference to a child’s life and have an impact on their future.
Fostering can be challenging and testing but also hugely rewarding.
Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer? If you live in the Lancashire Area and have the commitment and strength (and a spare room) to make a positive impact on a young person’s future, please get in touch with us. We’re Capstone Foster Care and we are looking for people interested in becoming carers in this area.
There are different types of care needed. In particular, Capstone is seeking people who can offer placements to sibling groups and parent and child. As a carer, you receive training and support during the process of becoming approved which can take from four to six months.
You can become a foster carer regardless of age, marital status, gender, sexuality, disability, or employment status. Ideally, our carers are at least 25 years of age but sometimes 21 is an acceptable age to become a carer. Regarding work outside the home, there is an expectation that one foster parent will be available 24/7. It is a rewarding choice of career where you provide love, care, and shelter that transforms lives.
We have an excellent training programme facilitated by trained professionals who offer a varied range of effective training. Our training sessions also provide the opportunity to meet other Capstone carers and hear their stories, which has proven beneficial in building support networks.

Capstone is an independent agency. We have a positive working relationship with Lancashire Local Authority (Lancashire County Council) and were successful in a recent tendering process. The local authority outsources placement to agencies such as Capstone which have the experience and dedicated focus on providing homes for foster children and young people.
We carry out the assessment and placement, provide a fostering allowance and special payment to foster families as well as provide ongoing education and assistance.
The payments and benefits that foster parents receive depend on the types of fostering services they provide. For example, those who look after young persons with special needs receive extra money to provide for meeting these needs. Teenagers have different needs than babies might have. In parent and child placements, the parent is often a teenager who needs to acquire the skills to care for a baby.
Capstone also has an excellent in-house teaching programme, where our qualified teachers offer 1:1 teaching support for children in place. Carers are assigned experienced social workers who get to know you and your children and therefore are on hand to offer guidance and assistance. Capstone Foster Care (North) know the challenges that looking after a young person in care can bring and offer a 24 hour service so somebody is always available if you need help or advice.
We also utilise the services of Tim Woodhouse of Tiptoes who is a child therapist and specialises in children who have experienced trauma and neglect.
Here are Debbie, Cathy and Vivienne who form part of the team from Capstone Bradford. Our friendly team support carers across Bradford and Yorkshire and are ready to speak with anyone thinking of fostering to answer your questions.
