If you live in Kent, or the surrounding area and you have ever thought about fostering, we urge you to enquire and find out if it’s right for you. That’s because there are children in Kent who desperately need your support. Kent is a diverse county, and we welcome carers of all backgrounds. Each child we support is different, and so is each carer. We embrace that.
Children are taken into care by local Kent authorities. Placements are made with the local authority which often uses agencies such as Capstone. Our commitment is to provide positive outcomes in the lives of children and young people who had to be removed from their birth families and placed in a safe home.
This is how Katie Bateman, one of our carers from the South East, described the process:
“Applying to foster is understandably a very in-depth process. Thanks to Capstone, I had support every step of the way. The team are always fantastic at explaining everything, keeping me updated and just generally letting me know that they are there when I need them. My wonderful social worker is always just phone call away and I am always made to feel as if my words matter. It is this support that Capstone gives that allows me to focus on the most important thing, which is caring for the two most beautiful girls I am fostering. If you want an agency that supports, encourages and helps you to be what you signed up to be, a foster parent, then I would whole-heartedly recommend Capstone Foster Care.”
At Capstone, we have experienced social workers who are allocated to foster carers. Your social worker is always available to offer assistance, advice and guidance. We also offer a 24 hour service. Someone is always on hand when needed.

We have offices in Kent in Ashford and Dartford and offer an excellent package to all our carers. You will be assigned a supervising social worker, who works one-on-one with you and your family and to ensure your new foster placement is happy and integrates well.
There are lots of different activities to do with children in the area. Why not pay some of them a visit.
- Go Ape Tree Top Junior – An outdoor adventure where explorers aged 6-12 go on a personalised course through canopy tree tops ending on an awesome zip wire! Parks in both Maidstone and Cranbrook!
- Belvedere Splash Park – This is apparently the largest free access public wet play park in the UK. Children can play on a safety surfaced beach where they’ll find water sprinklers, showers, sprays and bubble jets or paddle in a lagoon and discover the desert island! Located in Belvedere.
- Port Lympne Wild Animal Park – Imagine the plains of Africa, right here in Hyth. 100 acres of safari adventure where animals roam free. Plus the world’s biggest gorilla enclosure and lots of creepy crawlies!
