If you live in the North, West, or South areas of Yorkshire and have a spare bedroom, please contact us. Capstone Foster Care is looking for carers in these areas who can provide a nurturing environment to vulnerable children or young people. In particular, we are recruiting carers who can offer parent and child and sibling group placements.
We are an independent fostering agency and we work with Yorkshire’s local authorities and provide well-qualified carers with all types of foster placements. Whether you are just thinking about how to start your fostering journey or are already registered and would like to transfer to us, we’re ready to talk to you about it.
Being a foster parent can be challenging but knowing that you are guiding a child in the right direction can be extremely rewarding.

Who can foster? Here are some FAQS that help answer that question. If you have experience as a caregiver, that’s great but not necessary although it does help you understand what it is like caring for a child or young person. During the process, you will get a chance to meet people who have this experience and who are willing to share their stories with you.
Don’t disqualify yourself before you even begin by thinking that you have to be married and own your own home. Single, LGBT, male or female – please think about opening your heart and your home to some of the many children in your area who need safe places to live and thrive. Your home could be one of these safe places. If you rent, just check with your landlord first.
It begins with a call to our local office expressing interest. To become a registered carer, a form F assessor will conduct home visits to get to know you and your home and family. Before this even begins, there is one essential factor that must be considered. You must have at least one spare bedroom before you can take in a child in care.
You will work with a supervising social worker and an expert social worker is always available to offer support and advice, 24/7. Our trained professionals offer varied training during the application process and after. We have a great in-house education team to support young people with tuition and teaching as well as therapeutic services provided for young people who have experienced trauma and harm.
We were recently inspected by Ofsted and were rated as “Good with Outstanding features”. We are also accredited ‘Investors in People.’ We are a well-established fostering agency operating offices across most parts of England. We have approximately 100 staff and 500 carers. Each office still maintains the family-friendly feel. We can offer you the best of both worlds – the resources and expertise of a large agency but the personal feel and local support which most carers really value and appreciate.
