We offer generous benefits, allowances and additional payments depending on the placements, and always work hard to carefully match our carers with the most appropriate placements.

We are an experienced and qualified team with a desire to support foster carers, their birth children and the placements in our care. We support each other to achieve positive outcomes for young people and foster carers. We are proud of our Capstone “family-feel” environment and we achieve this by taking the time to get to know our fostering families, and making them feel part of our team.

We are looking for families who can provide a good level of support and a positive family experience for children and young people of all ages. An essential criterion is to have a spare single or double bedroom in your home.

The majority of children we are asked to place are aged between 4 and 18 years of age. We don’t usually get referrals for babies, but we do have a big demand to support teenagers, parent and child (usually a mother and child who need support) plus sibling groups (brothers and sisters). There is a big need to support siblings of all ages, so if you have the extra space to support more than one child that’s great, you will be in high demand. Foster carers with the skills to support children with a disability or special requirements, are also always in high demand.

We have regular ongoing training, support groups and events where foster carers are invited to come together, meet each other, speak with the staff team and keep in touch with us about their fostering journey. We are a child-focused organisation and we plan events for children throughout the year.

Our Leicester Team has 5 social workers, supporting over 20+ registered foster carers.

We recruit, train and support foster carers from various areas around the City of Leicester.

Headed by Regional Director, Sara Chambers-Ross who is supported by Regional Manager, Chris Crocker who manages the social work team and Dave is the Team Manager for Leicester. Our Senior Social Worker Mandy, and Supervising Social Workers Jane and Varsha, collectively support foster carers across the region, offering support and fostering guidance 24/7. A social worker is always available as they work on a rota and take turns to be on call during the evenings and weekends. Our dedicated social work team makes regular visits and support foster carers to achieve positive outcomes for the children and young people in all areas of their lives.

Colleagues in Kings Norton, Birmingham, including our Foster Care Placement and Recruitment Teams, support the office. We also have wider support from the centralised Capstone Team who offers advice and guidance.

Fostering could be a life changing experience for you. Children and young people are carefully matched with the right family to make fostering a fulfilling and rewarding experience for everyone. We believe in building brighter futures for both the children and the foster carers, so fostering is a positive experience for everyone.

If you’ve every thought of becoming a foster carer in Leicester and this is something you are interested in, or if you are interested in finding out more about transferring to a great independent fostering agency, then please give Capstone a call on 0121 374 2650 or simply click here and take your first steps to a rewarding and special career.
