Fostering Cheshire

Fostering CheshireIf you have ever thought about fostering in Cheshire East or West, there is something you should know. There are children and young people right here, right now, who need you. When the local authorities of the Cheshire West or Cheshire East Council, take a child or young person into care, an immediate placement is needed.

The local authority does have its own roster of carers. However, the ongoing demand for foster families means that independent fostering agencies, of which Capstone Foster Care (North) is one, are more and more called upon to provide this service. We are extremely well equipped to fulfil the role. Our great staff includes social workers, in-hours teachers, and an administration team.

We must have people like you to work with us as a crucial part of the team. Capstone has an arrangement with the councils and the local authority to find well-trained foster families for the children and young people who have been removed from their homes. While it is not possible to predict when you will be called upon, or what needs the children may have, this is a group effort. We do our best to make placements that are mutually beneficial.

We also have a 24-hour Out of Hours Service and are always available to give guidance, support, and assistance. As well, we have the services of Tim Woodhouse. Tim is a registered Play Therapist who offers 1:1 sessions for foster parents who might need additional support.

In other words, our agency is fully equipped and very personable. We need you and can make your experience caring for a looked after child very rewarding. Of course, there are some things we need to know about you and the very first question is, “Do you have a spare bedroom?”

Thinking about fostering with Capstone?
Just complete the form below and one of our team will be in touch with you ASAP.

Do you have a spare bedroom? *YesNo
All fields marked with an * must be completed.

There are other crucial pieces of information we need about you such as whether you are in good health and if all members of your household over 18 can pass a DBS check. We ask the first question about the space you have available because it is our mandate to have proper accommodations for each and every child we place. This begins with the child having his or her own bedroom. It doesn’t have to be large but it must be spacious enough for a bed, desk, and chest of drawers.

During the months we go through the application process together, we will learn about your personality and your patience and caring nature. You will learn how we will work with you. You will get to meet other foster carers and discover the strength of the Capstone team. You will hear stories about the successful outcomes of the children and young people who have been in our care; because of people like you they have a bright future. We offer a generous allowance and ongoing training.

At Capstone Foster Care we offer Cheshire Council a variety of different fostering services. Foster placements can be long or short term, you might foster one child or, under more specialist circumstances, a sibling group or a young parent with their infant child.

Parent and child fostering places a young parent and their new baby in care together to help the parent learn how to care for their new child. The fostering of a whole sibling group in one home is incredibly important for the well being of the children. Both types of care are incredibly important and in high demand but can be hard to place due to the space required – if you can offer either service we want to hear from you.

There is a type of fostering for almost anyone and we urge anyone interested in becoming a foster carer to get in touch with our team to discuss the available options.

If you have been thinking about fostering and would like to speak to someone at our office, contact us on 01457 829 400. Adam Badat, our Foster Carer Recruitment Co-ordinator, is available to answer any questions you may have. You can also enquire online and someone will get in touch within 24 hours.
