Casual contract.  Hours will vary - approximately 3 - 9 hours per week.  

Capstone Foster care has a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated and dependable individual, with relevant experience of working with children and young people, to join the team.

We are looking for someone to work alongside our MATTS (Multi-disciplinary Assessment Treatment and Therapy service) on focussed work with children and young people who are placed within our agency in the community, in leisure activities or at school.  The work will be discussed alongside you by the team of professionals working with the child/ young person.

As Therapeutic Support Worker, you will be there to provide one to one support to our young people. You will be expected to build positive relationships with the child and help them to trust and feel safe with adults. The Therapeutic Support Worker will be responsible for sharing their observations and providing information to the clinical team.

The successful candidate will work closely with members of the clinical team to offer support and provide vital assistance for a variety of tasks. As directed, you will be responsible for planning, facilitating and delivering a range of support services.

What we’re looking for:

  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have a vehicle
  • Have proven track record of working with children and young people
  • Have a good understanding and awareness of child protection issues
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Are willing to work flexible hours, including non-office hours, in order to meet the needs of supporting young people socially outside of school hours
  • Share a commitment to Equal Opportunities in all work practices and to improving the lives of Looked After Children

Applicants maybe studying towards their Introduction, Certificate or Diploma in Counselling or be a Social Work or Psychology Student with experience of working with children and young people. We would be very interested to hear from any applicants with a dual heritage especially English/Caribbean.
