Capstone Foster Care Directors

Richard Compton-Burnett and Simon Constantine have many years' experience in founding and developing businesses in healthcare and other sectors. They joined forces several years ago to focus on fostering. They are attracted to the world of fostering in part because from a Christian perspective it involves caring for some of society’s most disadvantaged people. To that end they have brought together a team of fostering professionals skilled at helping children and young people to rebuild their lives after early trauma. This is a long-term vision. The goal is to develop Capstone Foster Care over a 20 year timeframe.

At Capstone’s inception, Richard and Simon recruited Paul Mills to join them as a director. Paul had set up and directed his own fostering agency for a decade before bringing his agency ‘Woodside Foster Care’ under the Capstone umbrella. Under his direction, Capstone (South-West) has made the transition from several smaller agencies into one of the larger independent fostering providers, with a clear focus on training carers to meet the needs of children traumatised by early experiences.

The Capstone teams are now  headed up by Amar Dhull in the South East and the Midlands and Steve Hunt in the South and South-West . Both Amar and Steve have run independent fostering agencies with considerable success: Amar set up Vision Fostering in 2002 and has developed the organisation into one of the leading providers of foster care services to Local Authorities in Greater London. Steve Hunt has many years experience of the provision of children’s services having worked as a Manager within Local Authority for twenty five years. He left Local Authority in 2002 and has since held senior positions managing independent agencies, in the Midlands and more recently in the South West. Steve uses his extensive experience to build supportive and cohesive teams to achieve the most positive outcomes for all involved in the provision of services at Capstone.

Richard, Simon, Paul, Amar and Steve are the directors of the Capstone Foster Care group, but the Capstone Vision is realised only by the network of support that they have created  around each child or young person who comes into Capstone. The quality of that support is constantly monitored and enhanced by a close-knit team of carers, social workers, trainers and education specialists operating within the Capstone office network.
