2011

Hello from the Capstone Midlands team. 2010 was an exciting year for Capstone, we were able to recruit over 40 new foster carers throughout the Midlands. All the foster carers approved have demonstrated that they have ability, passion and professionalism needed to look after children and young people.

In 2010 we also successfully achieved a ‘preferred provider status’ with Worcestershire Local Authority which means we are one of a selected number of foster agencies that Worcestershire approach first when a child or young person needs a foster home.

Throughout 2010 we continued to develop our relationship with all the Local Authorities throughout the East and West Midlands. This year we intend to continue to offer all the Local Authorities in the Region foster carers who can offer children and young people stable and loving foster homes.

Training

Our next training session for approved foster carers is on the 23rd of February 2011. This course is entitled Logging and Recording. Throughout 2011 we will be running a selection of further courses, these will include:

• First Aid

• Behaviour Management

• Working with Sexually Abused Children

• Preventing Placement Breakdown

• Safeguarding Children and Child Protection

• Safe caring

• Mother and Baby Placements
