Community and Social Responsibility

At Capstone we also want good outcomes for the community to which a child belongs and we want to encourage and support charitable endeavour.

Our charitable giving programme currently includes the following initiatives;

  1. Sponsoring young people in care to visit I-B School near Delhi in India. This school was set up by Amar Dhull, the founder of Capstone Vision , and has 1250 pupils. It has links with four European schools and teams from these schools have visited India for a week in November in recent years to witness the Annual School Festival and the rich Indian culture. In 2008 Capstone sponsored two young people in the care of London Local Authorities to share that experience.

  2. Sponsoring young people from I-B School in India to visit England. In 2009 Capstone arranged for two young people and an accompanying teacher to spend ten days in England to particpate in an education exchange programme with Grange Sports College (Bristol) and Wilmington Hall School (Dartford).

  3.  Financial support to help young people make the move from fostering to independent living and to assist them in their early years as adults.  To that end, we have in particular given financial assistance to The Care Leavers' Foundation (www.thecareleaversfoundation.org).

  4.  Annual donations to charities selected by our staff or carers that are local to our offices and work with disadvantaged children and young people.

  5.  Capstone Vision has made a significant contribution to the development of I-B School in India over the last five years.
