Fostering in Waltham Forest and Walthamstow
Fostering and Supporting Children in Waltham Forest
There is an ongoing demand for foster carers in the Waltham Forest area – you could be someone that takes the first steps towards meeting that demand today.
We regularly receive referrals, asking us to support children and young people in places such as Walthamstow, Leyton, and Chingford. In order for us to provide this, we require foster carers in Waltham Forest, from all cultural backgrounds, as the children in need of your support are of many different ethnicities, cultures and religions. At the moment, there is a particular requirement for people that can foster teenagers, and children of Black African or White British origin.
To become a foster carer, you don’t need to have any qualifications, be a certain age, or be in a relationship. However, you do need to have at least one spare bedroom in your home, available time to dedicate to meeting the needs of a child in care, and the right to live in the UK permanently.
Children in care, and coming into care, are coming from a range of different backgrounds and situations. As a foster carer, you will be providing them with a safe and secure environment to live in, supporting them in their academic and leisurely activities, and creating positive moments in their lives, that will help to reduce the negative impact of their past experiences.
