Fostering in Croydon
There is an urgent need for foster carers in Croydon. In 2017, there were 760 children in the care of the local authority and nearly 400 were in need of a child protection plan. Nearly a quarter of the children in care are from low-income families. Nearly half the children in care are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
It is easy to see that these children and young people have a desperate need for someone to step into the role of parent and provide a safe and caring home where their basic needs are met. They also need carers who are able to provide the emotional support and understanding that is so essential to their development into fulfilled adults.
Capstone Foster Care is an independent fostering agency and we work with local authorities to find foster homes for children and young people. We are seeking foster carers who can help us meet the cultural, religious, and language diversity of the young people taken into care.
They can be in care due to neglect and abuse by the people who are supposed to love them and protect them or because they have been separated from their parents as they are seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.
Whatever the reason for a child or young person being in care, a loving foster parent can make all the difference in the world. A child’s life can be transformed once they have felt the safety, security, and love of a person who is there to provide shelter and protection.

If you have the room for a child or children, Capstone needs you. As often as not, a sibling group needs a home. If possible, we prefer to keep them together. There are many types of care these vulnerable children need. They may have physical, emotional, or educational disabilities. They may have trust issues.
Most of the kids in care are between 10 and 14 years old. This can mean that they have had a long experience of difficult living circumstances.
We can make no guarantees about the type of fostering or the length of the placement. We can guarantee that our training and support is outstanding. Our fostering allowance is generous. Our network is close-knit and helpful.
If you are healthy and energetic and have a spare bedroom, we need you. We make all efforts to ensure that your skills and personality are matched as well as possible with the needs of the children in your care.
